Firstly, I won’t recommend anyone to do so. Setting up Gmail IMAP settings outlook 2013 is a lengthy task as Google would usually block you from doing it. So, rather than following these measures, you can easily sign up for your G-mail account using your web browser. But if you, for any other reason still want all your mails on the same platform and want to Setup Gmail in outlook 2013, you will have to follow these lengthy procedures which we have divided into three parts.

Part 1: Enable IMAP

You will have to enable this in your Gmail Account to prevent Google from blocking you

  • Now, You will have to go to the Gmail Account by searching it on your browser.
  • Here you will have to select the ‘Settings’ Option which will open up various options.
  • Here, you will have to choose ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ to make changes in the IMAP. Just enable the IMAP and the first process is done to Setup gmail in outlook 2013.

Part 2: The Access and Verification

  • Select the Google Apps Icon on your G-mail. Select your account from there.
  • Once you get into your account, you will see a Security option. Select it.
  • There you will see an option called ‘third-party apps without access. There allow google to provide third-party access faster by switching ‘Google Accounts Sign in Props’ On. Also, make sure that you have activated the ‘two-step verification’ there. If you haven’t done it just make the two-step verification option on. Google will guide you in this. All you need to do is read those guidelines and follow them carefully.

Part 3: Creation of the Account

So, now you can finally start your ‘Microsoft Outlook’ and follow the process

  • If you haven’t signed in with any previous account, Outlook will directly lead you to the Add Account Option. If you have an account, which is supposedly most of you. You will have to go to the ‘File’ option where you will find the ‘Account Settings’ Option. Clicking on it will open up some options. From that, select ‘New’.
  • Here add the details Microsoft is asking for. Then press on ‘Manual Setup or Addition Server Types’ and press ‘Next’.
  • So firstly, change the Account Type to ‘IMAP’. Now below that, you will fill the ‘Incoming Mail Server’ with ‘imap.gmail.com’ and the outgoing mail server with ‘stmp.gmail.com’. In Addition to this simple add other basic information that your Outlook, asks for. Once you have done all these, select the ‘More settings’ option.
  • Now you will have to press on the ‘Outgoing Server’ option and select ‘My outgoing server requires authentication.
  • Then press on the ‘Advanced’ option which is beside it. Now this will get a little bit complicated. So, follow carefully.
  • In the ‘Use the following type of ‘encrypted connections’, choose ‘SSL” which will automatically adjust the upper digits.
  • Below this again there will be an option with a similar name under ‘Outgoing Server’. Here, choose ‘TLS’. Here you have to manually change the digits to ‘587’
  • Do recheck ones and then press on ‘OK’. Finally, select ‘Next’.

Once you have completed Part 3 Successfully, your Outlook will start its work to set up everything, so that you can use your G-mail Account Easily. Surely it will take some time, but not as much as it took to set up this. I hope this has helped you and also hope that Google and Microsoft will come up with something to make this process an easy one.
